Have you experienced a performance review? If not, interview anyone you know who has experienced the performance review process. Answer the following questions about the experience:
What type of performance appraisal was it?
What exactly did they experience?
What company was they working for?
Did management act professionally?
How was the review delivered?
How did they feel about the review? Was the information honest, helpful, and encouraging? Were there any “surprises”?
Were goals established for the next performance period?
Was they given an opportunity to express an opinion?
After this experience did you or your friend feel positively about your job and employer or negatively?
Type your experience or “interview” and write a summary of what you would do if you were the one to give the performance appraisal:
What would you have done differently?
What did you like about the appraisal that was delivered?
Was there anything surprising or unusual about the information or how it was delivered?
