Is conflict universal? Why or why not? Are incompatible goals always associated with conflict? Why or why not? What are the signs that competition is coming? Would you please make a list and discuss it with your classmates? Response Post: Do you agree with the initial post? All feedback needs to be written a formal business format, such as email, memo, or letter. You must post ONE response to another students’ original posts to get full credit for the DQ’s. Many students ask me how many sentences are supposed to be in a paragraph? A paragraph should be 100 to 200 words long or be no more than five or six sentences. Your replies will need to be formal and be at least a paragraph. Tips: You will learn to apply the concepts covered in the course regarding your daily communication encounters and opportunities by taking the idea (s) and reflecting upon how the phenomenon is enacted in your personal, professional, academic, and work life. Discussion Questions are opportunities for you to exercise (practical application) what you learn in each chapter. The objective is to improve as you go through each chapter’s goals, reflected in the grading. Remember, you will not be great at this starting because many have not learned to write formally or in a business environment. So be patient, read the book and the feedback, and ask questions to be along the way! Here are the objectives and expectations you will learn throughout the course: Pretend your peers/classmates are your co-workers in this course, not your best friends. Typically, students write informally to friends, which I see many with DQ responses. The object is to write in a FORMAL reaction, which we do in business every day. Avoid judgment statements (only using facts, data, and research). Remove the “I” in your writing and make it about facts and analysis you have learned. Remember to cite your sources after the salutation. Would you please use other sources besides your book? Do some online research on the topics! The discussion questions cannot be made up. DQ’s are based on the weekly chapter(s) outlined in the class schedule. You will be answering these questions through Canvas, under the discussion icon. The discussion questions will be posted on Monday and are due by Sunday at 11:59 pm.
