In 2019, I came to San Francisco alone and lived there for five months before moving to San Jose. Also, my major is computer science, and I plan to transfer to San Jose State University next year. My hobbies are watching YouTube while lying on the bed, hiking, and playing online games.Reading is important for everyone because reading is very helpful to our lives. The first reason is that it can improve concentration. We are living in a fast era now. We’re trying to deal with everything quickly. However, reading can improve our concentration because we can’t read quickly and have to read slowly. Second, reading makes us smarter. Reading books makes us increase our knowledge and imagine various things. In other words, while reading a book, we imagine the book’s contents in our heads, and our brains develop. As a result, we can get a lot of knowledge from books and be brilliant. Finally, reading improves our vocabulary and communication skills. There are many words in the book that we don’t use in our daily lives. Therefore, we can improve our language skills by reading the words. Moreover, we can improve our vocabulary by living the words daily. In other words, reading is beneficial in our lives because it improves our concentration, makes us smart, and improves our communication skills.Reply 2 to this:Hello class, I am Beniel Sindano. I am from DR-Congo. Before coming to the USA, I was in South Africa for about two years. My major is nursing, but right now I work with kids in Campbell After School Program. I like to clean and relax during my free time. I got married last year in January. The article “17 Reasons Why Reading is Important For Everyone” by Subodh Sharma tells readers some good benefits of reading for anybody. In the introduction, Subodh Sharma mentions that book provides readers an opportunity to learn and explore new ideas. By reading books, readers grow mentally, emotionally, and psychologically which increases readers’ knowledge. Those points Subodh Sharma pointed out in the introduction; I have found a few points (one, three, and seven) that are important to me as a college student and also on a daily basis. In the first point, the author tells us that reading books brings a new level of thought which would help us in the present and future. The first point is similar to increasing knowledge. Subodh Sharma states on the third point that reading books improve our focus and concentration. By reading, we train our brain to pay attention to our nowadays situation. This point is similar to growing mentally. On point seven, the author mentions that reading books expands our knowledge and makes us smarter. Books are a rich source of information because we get to know different people, people’s experiences, different places, different cultures. This point is similar to an opportunity to learn and explore and increase knowledge. Another benefit of reading books, it sets an example for kids around me because children always mimic what adults do.
