Discuss an initial, amended, and final statement of your beliefs about the role, instructional value and ethics of assessment for language learners. Students will write an initial statement prior to or on the first day of class. The initial statement is not viewed to be incorrect, inappropriate, or judged for lack of prior knowledge about assessment. It represents where you are at the beginning of the course prior to study of the many facets of classroom assessment, and subsequent growth throughout the semester. There are no length specifications for the initial statement, but generally, approximately 2- 3 pages long have been the modal length for concisely written statements in the past.
