and videos you must reference within the paper. Please be sure to refer to EVERY source as many times as you can within the paper. I will revise it after and relate it to class content. The walking dead links do not work, so if you could find summaries, snippets or the whole film for each of those exact episodes that would be great. In the essay, the main topics should include cannibalism, Mourning, and the modernization of the zombie and comparing it to its roots in Haiti. The teacher’s instructions should help a lot.

By resituating the figure of the zombie within its African diaspora context we brought a
Caribbean perspective on critical modern issues such as alienation, totalitarianism, loss,
Dispossession, catastrophe, mourning, haunting, globalization, imperialism,
sensationalism, and exoticism. For this final research project, you will do a comparative
study between representations of the zombie in Caribbean thought and in global mass
media. Where do these various representations overlap and diverge? You will use these
general questions as a starting point for your research project before honing in on a more
specific point that will constitute the heart of your argument. As in the midterm
assignment, to support your argument you will draw examples from at least one film, and
two written texts (critical or literary), studied during the second half of the semester. I also
expect you to cite new materials that we did not cover in class. Use the library
to find at least three scholarly and culturally significant works (film, articles,
books, but encyclopedia) which will help you acquire a better understanding of
your subject matter and provide authoritative documentation as well as a critical
perspective to write your paper.
You will be graded on your mastery of the course material, the clarity and originality of
your argument, the value and appropriateness of the new materials, and the quality
of the delivery (spelling, grammar, style).
