RESEARCH TOPIC: How are higher educational institutions modifying their curricula and teaching strategies to address the increasing language and cultural diversity of their learners?
INSTRUCTIONS: Students will select a topic of their choice and prepare a research paper for their final class paper using the research paper format for a major education association (NASPA, ACPA). The idea of the research paper is to suggest a specific area or issue in higher education. The paper should be 4 – 6 pages long (not including your cover page, professional competencies (NASPA & ACPA), abstract page and references), must include/cite at least 6 resources from your annotated bibliography, and present a thesis or research question that can be addressed in the paper.
Papers should contain as many of the following as are applicable, preferably in this order:

● Abstract (not included in the 4-6 pages long requirement)
● Professional Competencies (NASPA & ACPA); (not included in the 4-6 pages long
requirement)
● Introduction, the philosophical, theoretical, or practical argument and its bases; (included
in the 4-6 pages long requirement)
● Literature, sources, or evidence to support the argument/analysis; (included in the 4-6
pages long requirement)
● Conclusions and implications of the argument; and (included in the 4-6 pages long
requirement)
● Significance of the argument for higher education. (included in the 4-6 pages long
requirement)
● References (not included in the 4-6 pages long requirement)
Include: the 8 articles, Professional Competencies document, annotated bibliography
