Critique one printed or multimedia health education resource from your workplace, a community agency, a doctor’s office or etc. (a health information pamphlet or brochure that is 1-2 pages–can be from an online source ) Use the SAM (Suitability Assessment of Materials) Method to evaluate the health education resource. 1. Following completion of the SAM scoring sheet evaluation, complete the following support items typed on a separate word document for submission: a. Introduction: The title, subject, intended audience, and source (such as American Heart Association) of the educational material evaluated, background of health literacy and readability, and the purpose and content of the critique. b. The interpretation of the SAM Percentage rating for the material. c. Provide comment as to why this factor did not receive a “2” score and specific recommendations for revisions. This content must be clearly labeled.
