o Explain how the textual features work together to produce meaning o Recognition of the possibility of multiple or conflicting meanings or interpretations o Ability to connect the meanings of the text to its bigger contexts (i.e. larger social meaning and/or the texts contexts of use and reception)
o Evidence of ability to read critically (against the grain)
