Each student will be required to develop an evidence-based essay. To do this, you will need to collect quality research evidence (i.e., research from high quality research journals) and build an argument to present a response to the aspects required below. Given that not all evidence is equally trustworthy, you need to take a critical approach by selecting quality evidence and demonstrating why this evidence which you have chosen is more valid or reliable than other sources. Your evidence-based essay is to be a maximum of 1500 words. There is no additional leeway on this word count and your work may be penalised if you exceed this limit. These 1500 words include all words up to the Reference List (i.e. all headings, sub-headings, in-text citations, and general content). The Reference List itself is excluded from the word count. Your essay should address the following three aspects: • Describe a real case (based on your personal observations/experiences) in which the individuals are motivated or de-motivated to perform their tasks. • Explain the high or low motivation of the individuals based on ONE selected motivation theory covered in the lectures of Week 3 and Week 4 (., self-determination theory, goal setting theory, expectancy theory, equity theory, or etc). • Based on your analysis above, provide solutions to resolve or further improve the motivation issues in the case. Your research evidence-based essay will be marked by the tutors and moderated by the Unit Coordinator. When the essay submission point is available below you will have the opportunity to check your originality score through Turnitin. While we recommend that your essay is not above a score of 20%, a justifiable score will depend on a number of factors. Consequently, it is considered vitally important to ensure that you reference your work accurately to avoid issues with plagiarism. In MGMT1135, you are to use the UWA APA style of referencing.
