Assignment: Choose a painting or sculpture and analyze it using the Elements and Principles of Art.
To begin: Review the chapters in your text, and the video lessons regarding the Principles and Elements.
You must do a thorough breakdown of the painting or sculpture with regard to the Principles and
Elements of Art.
Write a short essay about how the artist has used the Elements and
Principles within the work. Include your own thoughts about what you feel the artist is trying to convey
or depict in the painting or sculpture, and how their use of the Principles and Elements helps support
this. Make sure you use proper terminology in your essay.
You must include a color image of the work, the artist’s name, a short sentence or two about the artist,
and the date the work was completed. Make sure to include citations!
