Describe in full detail how each of the four major sociological paradigms would address the issues outlined. Obviously not all paradigms will have an equal fit with a
given topic but you should explain why or why not by clearly communicating the
basics of each paradigm.
What is culture? How do we learn culture? Who
and what are the agents and arenas of this learning process? What is the
function of language? What role(s) do norms, mores, and folkways play in social
interaction? How are they defined? Who defines them? What is the place of
minority populations in this process? And how would each of the sociological paradigms
not only see the culture but view it as important, or not, in the study of
society?
