Write an analytical paper assessing the importance of US-Iran relations and possible recommendations
for management and/or resolution. In organizing the short essay, students should
identify at least 3 reasons why this issue is of particular concern and also identify 3
recommendations for the management and/or resolution.
Expectations/Guidelines for the Paper
-Does the paper fully comply with the topic requirement, i.e., does it discuss one of the top ten issues?
-Does the paper include original ideas, insights, analysis, or applications?
-Is the author’s argument and analysis free of contradictions?
-Does the paper demonstrate detailed knowledge of the case study?
-Does the paper cite at least 5 reputable sources from inside/outside course?
-Does the paper have an overall structure which is logical and easy to understand?
-Does the paper use proper English grammar, spelling, and punctuation?
-Does the paper properly and consistently use one of the following citation formats: APA, Chicago,
MLA?
Organization of paper:
First 2 paragraphs: State why this issue is important! Include a thesis with what recommendations you will propose.
Pages 1-2: Provide articulation/evidence for your claim
Pages 3-4: Recommendations and conflict resolutions
Don’t just give a summary of what happened, make sure it ties into the analysis and argument.
