As an independent advisor appointed by a large multinational operating in a key industry/sector of your choice (Food, Energy, Health, Finance, Transportation, Fashion, or Technology), you have been invited by the Board to contribute key ideas and recommendations on how the company can best engage with their industry peers and other key stakeholders to facilitate and accelerate an effective delivery of the SDG Agenda. With reference to at least two transformation areas (out of the six listed above), please present a detailed report addressing the following: 1. The key strategic (long-term) opportunities for Purposeful Business and Sustainability in the company’s specific industry. You are invited to examine specific sustainability issues in that sector (from the perspective of multiple stakeholders), and suggest waysin which these may be translated into real,strategic business opportunities. 2. Specific contribution of the industry to the SDG Agenda. With respect to the key transformation areas you have chosen, please evaluate the progress made so far by the major players in your industry (perhaps drawing on case studies and other examples of shared best practice) and identify the key challenges that they will need to address. 3. Recommended industry-wide initiative(s) and measures of success. Taking into consideration the specific risks associated with the current environment, which metrics would you recommend to track the effective implementation of the SDG agenda by businesses operating in the industry? For this purpose, please consider and critically examine the existing corporate accounting, reporting, and benchmarking standards and initiatives, and suggest ways in which these could these be refined/improved. 4. Communication and stakeholder engagement strategies. Based on your findings in the other sections of this report, please articulate the key messages that the company could incorporate into its future communication strategy, when engaging with multiple stakeholders on sustainability issues
