In a 3 to 5-page essay, discuss whether Sonny will likely be able to resist
his addiction to heroin in the future or if it is likely he will succumb to his
heroin addiction. Be sure to use introduction and conclusion strategies
discussed in class. State a clear thesis statement that you can prove with
textual analysis. Give at least two reasons for your position and support those
reasons with textual analysis. Be sure your body paragraphs follow the TIEIA
format.
Be sure your essay is typed and double-spaced, using Times New Roman 12. The
beginning sentence of each paragraph should be indented by 1 Tab space (or 5
spaces). Be sure your essay has a title. Be sure your essay has page numbers.
Also, be sure to use the TIEIA format (discussed in class) when bringing in
textual material from the story as evidence to support your points.
Do NOT use outside sources to write this essay. Rely only on your own
literary analysis and experiences when developing your position.
