Write Your Own Constitution
“Many countries around the world are attempting to create a democratic form of government for the first time in history. These countries are often referred to as emerging democracies. Because it is their first attempt at self-government, a written constitution setting down the basic principles of democracy is often needed. Therefore, the task will be to create a model constitution for one of these democracies.”
In preparation for writing your constitution you should answer the following questions. Each question corresponds to a part of the U.S. Constitution. You will be setting your constitution up in the same fashion as the U.S. Constitution. This should be done on a Google Doc.
You will be able to do this either individually or with a partner (it is your choice). Remember that if you do this with a partner, you and your partner will be responsible for all of the work.
