Book Review: “The Brilliant Abyss:”

Words: 327
Pages: 2
Subject: Uncategorized

This is a reflective book review assignment. This means you do not need to use citations, but you should offer personal reactions to the information in the book
You will write a chapter-by-chapter summary (at least 175 words for each chapter, but no more than 200 words for each chapter) for these chapters: “Here is the Deep”, “The Whale and the Worm”, “Caught in a Jelly Web”, “In a Chemical World”, “Highs and Lows”, “Deep Matters”, “Deep Cures”, “Fishing Deep”, “The Eternal Junkyard”, “What’s Mine is Yours”, “Green versus Blue”, “A Sanctuary in the Deep”. This is a total of 12 chapters. You don’t have to summarize the “Prelude” or the “Epilogue”, but I encourage you to read them.
The summary and reflection are both included in the minimum 175 words and maximum of 200 word count limits. This means that both your summary and reflection combined should fall within those word counts.
Each chapter summary should include your own summary of what the author presents and a personal reflection on what you read in that chapter.
Generally, you should aim for ~75% of your chapter review to be a summary of the chapter and ~25% to be a personal reflection on what you read for that chapter. You can use the sample chapter summary provided below as a guide to help you get started.
For the assignment submission, you will type a chapter-by-chapter summary into a word processing program and then cut and paste all of the text into the submission box provided after you select “Submit Assignment”.
