Dickinson poem #341, #435, #632, and #712 (ONLY ONE NOT ALL 4)
Read through the Writing About Poetry – Purdue OWL link located in General Information in Course Content. Choose any one of the poems we read this week (including the four from E.B. Browning, the one from Robert Browning, and the four from Emily Dickinson). Then choose one of the topics under “What Can I Write About?” located in the Purdue OWL information. These include Theme, Genre, Versification, Figures of Speech, and Cultural Context. If you choose Figures of Speech, you do not have to write about all of them; choose one or two that stand out to you.
Write two solid paragraphs of analysis on the poem you chose using the focus you selected. Use other resources if you need to, including the Literary Terms link found course content under “General Information” or even Google.
