Project 1, Part One Topic Proposal
In week 4 you will be writing a comparison analysis paper on two artworks. Before writing the paper, you must first receive topic approval.
Directions for Paper Proposal Due Week 2:
Select two artworks of the same media (two sculptures, two paintings, etc.) from course material that you would like to analyze and research. The two artworks must be from different time periods. For example, the sculpture of Michelangelo’s David of the High Renaissance (16th century) compared with Auguste Rodin’s sculpture of The Thinker of the 19th century. It is helpful if the two selections have a commonality, as for example, both are still lives or both are landscapes. Note: The selected artworks must fall under course material, which is the 13th to the 20th century, or the Proto-Renaissance to Post Modernism.
Write a one page proposal answering the following questions:
Why did you select these two artworks and what do they have in common?
What have you already learned about them?
Include an image of both your selected artworks and provide complete identifying captions:

Include three annotated (academic) sources you plan to use for research in APA or MLA citation style. Note: Annotated means to write at least 3 sentences describing each source. Annotations: http://sites.umgc.edu/library/libhow/bibliography_tutorial.cfm
Once you have submitted your topic proposal, you will receive feedback that must be read before completing the final paper due in Week 4.
