You should address each portion of the assignment individually. You will be graded on the scientific merit of your proposal based on what you’ve learned about human learning. Please be sure to address every portion of the assignment.
Think of a person (real or hypothetical) who engages in (or fails to engage in) a specific behavior that you’d like to change. Your assignment is to come up with an operant conditioning plan to change this person’s behavior. Your proposal must fall within ethical guidelines for the treatment of human subjects–that is, you may not propose to harm or threaten to harm the subject of your behavior modification program. Answer the following questions:
Initial post (due Tuesday by 11:59 pm for full credit)
Describe the behavior you would like to encourage (or discourage).
Describe the operant conditioning plan you will employ to alter the behavior. Your plan should support effective and long-lasting behavioral change.
– Identify whether you will be using positive/negative reinforcement, positive/negative punishment, or both.
– What reinforcement schedule will you use? Will it change over time?
– Why did you make these choices?
I WILL SEND THIS ONCE YOU SEND THE FIRST HALF OF THE WORK! ( NEEDED BY 3/22//2022 )
Select one of your groupmates ‘ behavior modification plans to respond to. In your response, address the following points:
What are potential strengths that make their plan particularly effective and/or pitfalls that might limit the long-term success of their plan?
What additional operant conditioning principles could they employ that might enhance the effectiveness of their behavior modification program?
