Final Project: Family Fun Night
In this activity, you
will be working along with your classmates to create a ‘Family Fun Night.’ During
the Family Fun Night, students and their parents are invited into the classroom
to take part in a station
rotation activity on various mathematical concepts. The idea here is not
only to teach mathematical concepts, but
to help the parents get a taste of the learning activities their children
participate in during class.

Each student in the class will be responsible for creating a
station. Materials and presentations for each station will be posted to a D2L discussion
board where the class will have an opportunity to view and comment on each
station.

Step 2 – Station Planning
Respond to the following prompts to plan your Family Fun
Night station. Remember that your station will need to both teach and assess
learning of your topic. Your station should also be fun, engaging, and somehow
related to real-world applications, challenges, or opportunities.

Choose one of your
previous milestones to use as a basis for your station. You should have focused
on one or two module objectives. Write
them here. Use these as your objectives for your station.

·
Solving Algebraic Equations in one variable

Explain the goal of
the math station.

Explain the math concepts(s)
which make up the main focus of the math station. Use accurate mathematical
vocabulary.

Explain the format or
set-up of your math station. Consider how you would give someone else
directions to prepare the station for you.

Explain how you will
explain the math concept(s).

Explain how you will
provide an opportunity for the student to practice the concept(s).

Explain how you will
offer assistance to a student who may struggle.

Explain how you will
know if your students understand the
math.

Think of at least
three questions your audience may ask you during your station rotation activity.
Write and answer them here in Question and Answer format.

Step 3 – Create Materials

1.
Create any materials that you will need to run
your station. This might include a presentation, worksheet, rubric, reference
guide, guided note sheet, etc.

2.
Create a powerpoint presentation explaining your
station. Use the questions you responded to in Step 2 to guide your
presentation. Your presentation should include a vocal narration and visual
aids such as a PowerPoint presentation or screencast.

I am uploading the powerpoint that was used previously in a module asignment.
