Accompanying these pdfs, you will include a paragraph (3-5 sentences) that explains (a) Why you chose the topic; (b) Why the topic is relevant to current studies and society and (c) What further information you hope to investigate about the topic. Both the news article and the research article must be from 2019-2022. Any older information will not be scored. The news article must be from an actual news agency (ie not a blog or social media commentary) and the research article must be a peer-reviewed research article (a study, not a review, commentary, perspectives, opinion, etc) in order to be scored. For the research article, you must briefly describe the hypothesis of the article, general methods, results and conclusions. For the news article, please explain the purpose to the article and the audience for the article.
