Reflect upon the two Sources Attached (video and pdf) to write about how one might begin to think about economics differently by engaging with the history of economic thought.
(to help):
Some themes I can think of along these lines that were raised include being skeptical of the idea that the latest economics is the best so we can just forget about the past, or helping to recognize economics as characterized by plurality and debate, or explaining why economic theories are so slow to advance, or finding precursors to our own heretical ideas (that might solve current problems better, too), or reclaiming unheard voices and learning something new from them, or drawing upon “old” ideas to explain current issues, or recognizing the path dependency that happens when certain concepts or statistics come into widespread use, crowding other ideas out. There may be others.
