Please discuss the use of virtual simulation used in nursing school. Although most of of clinical experiences were done in person in on medical units each student had to complete a critical care simulation. We were presented with a patient who was presenting a sepsis picture. We had to provide interventions. Based on those intervention the patient responded appropriately. This was a safe environment to practice critical thinking, provide interventions and see outcomes.
During the height of the pandemic this was used very often at universities as they were not afforded the luxury of face to face live patient care.
