This paper should critically analyze the applicable laws in international humanitarian law (IHL). This paper should focus on the sexual violence against Rohingya women that were triggered following the 2016/2017 attack.
1. Overview of the conflict:
o Background on the internal conflict and the different groups.
o Explain how it constitutes an internal conflict. Define the main terms.
o Internationalized non-international armed conflict (role of Bangladesh)
2. Sexual violence against Rohingya women
o Critically analyze and present the applicable laws in IHL and highlight the gaps between laws for international conflict vs non-international conflict.
3. Recent developments
o Gambias request at the ICC (investigation)
o Examples of court cases if possible.
I have attached my draft which includes the intro, and the first section of the 1 main paragraph. I’ve also attached relevant documents for the paper as well as the assessment criteria. I could only load up to 10 documents, but can provide additional links with information as needed. I’ve included some below, in case. The text should be 4500 words or 5000 maximum (including footnotes, excluding bibliography and title page).
