Analyze two films from the genre. You can choose films we′ve screened or discussed in class, or films you′ve come across in your research. (Do not write about a film you′ve already written about for your midterm.) At least one of those films should have been made during the Golden Age of Hollywood (1920 to 1960). Focus on how the films fit in with or deviate from the conventions of the genre. Give specific examples of how the films incorporate technical and narrative innovations and how the films fit in with or differ from the style of Classical Hollywood Cinema.
