1.Describe the topic that you are interested in, and the reasons why you would like to survey a group of people about it.
Being a part of the USF Esports community, I have heard that peoples passion for gaming seems to lower as they grow older and they focus more on the social aspect of gaming. I would like to survey people about how many hours a day they play video games and how many hours they played video games when they were in high school. I would be getting the data from the USF Esports discord that has around 2,700 members.
2.Design two questions that you will use in your survey and create an internet-based survey using Survey Monkey (www.surveymonkey.com).
3.Define your population and specify how you will sample from them.
4.Create a budget itemizing how much money each part of the survey will cost to run.
5.Create pretend data for your samplebased upon how you expect, or maybe want people to respond.
6.Analyze the data and provide descriptive (e.g., percentages, averages) and interpretive (e.g., chi-square) statistics.
7.Report the data and provide conclusions.The topic that you will survey is up to you, but must have to do with something related to gerontology or aging. You must provide the topic of your paper in writing to me on or before September 29th. This description does not have to be overly long (1-2 sentences is sufficient). You must also provide a draft of the two questions that you will use in your survey. The entire assignment is and must contain each of the 7 steps listed above. This assignment is meant to be a relatively fun way to increase your knowledge about what it takes to design a survey.
