Students are expected to research and write a term paper about an African civilization not covered in lecture. We will discuss potential civilizations and topics in class. Papers should be 10 pages in length, double-spaced, with 12 pt Times New Roman font. They must include a minimum of 10 scholarly sources, properly referenced using American Anthropologist citation style. Topics and final drafts will be submitted on Blackboard. The final draft of the term paper must be submitted to SafeAssign. A rubric will be provided.
Goal:
Use the strategies developed during the in-class workshops to research and write a well-organized research paper. Apply the strategy for reading scientific articles, the bibliographic skills, and the thesis-writing strategies discussed in class. Practice giving and receiving peer-review feedback.
