• Students will randomly select policy topics to research and analyze.
• Each student will:
o Research and provide the details about the selected policy using The Policy Process
Model;
o Use all three (3) types of policy analysis approaches;
o Use theories of Politics and Public Policy, compare three (3) theories against each
other when providing alternatives to the policy;
o Use all of the Selected Criteria for Evaluating Public Policy Proposals to properly
evaluate the policy.
• As part of the conclusion, student will provide
o a fact-based assessment, based on the textbook’s process, whether or not the policy
could be implemented as is;
o provide any alternatives or recommendations, if deemed appropriate, to the policy.
• The Special Project will be at least 15 pages, yet no more than 20 pages of text – not including
the title page and reference page.
