Write a brief synopsis of Major Depression Disorder including the sections listed below:
1. Conceptualizing the disorder from any two (2) different theoretical perspectives (e.g., psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, behavioral, existential, biological etc.). In other words, what are the causes (etiology) and influencing factors leading to the onset of the disorder, from each of the 2 theoretical orientations you selected for this section of the paper. One of these theoretical orientations should be one that makes most sense to your own understanding this disorder.
2. Clinical or symptom presentation
This should include a summary of the hallmark symptoms of the disorder and the specific DSM-5 criteria one would need to meet for a diagnosis of the disorder you selected for the assignment.
3. Treatment
Based on your own reading and research about the disorder, briefly describe 2 different treatment approaches that have been shown to be effective in managing symptoms of the disorder you selected for this assignment. Briefly address community resources that may help to support the treatment of the disorder selected for this paper, including community resources for crisis management if relevant to the disorder you are writing about. Again, this can be based on what you learned from your textbook readings and any additional sources on the topic.
4. Cultural factors
Briefly address what cultural factors may be relevant to understanding, diagnosing, and/or treating this disorder.
5. Self-reflection: Include a brief paragraph about what you found particularly interesting or what you learned as a result of your work on this assignment.
In conducting your research for this assignment, please use at least one other published resource (e.g., journal article, chapter in a book) in addition to your Barlow et al. textbook and the DSM-5.
