Please choose one characters from the 56 Up documentary as a case that illustrates factors in adult development. In this analysis, please describe some psychological factors that were evident in the individuals life and how they affected his or her development over time.
So far in this course, we have looked at several developmental themes:
Early adulthood in current times (unit 2)
The importance of early attachment on adult relationships (unit 3)
How communication patterns influence martial/ life partnerships relationships (unit 4)
The effects of race, gender, and socio-economic status (unit 6)
The importance of work adjustment (unit 6)
The role of character strengths and spiritual maturity (unit 7)
You can analyze the person from the documentary along any of these themes, as well as others that you may have noticed. In your paper, please use specific examples and be sure to show psychological factors influenced the person over time. It may be helpful to think about elements of the persons personality and lifestyle that remained constant and the ones that have changed.
Here are some questions that you may wish to consider:
What aspects of the individuals personality seemed childhood and adolescence seemed to carry over into adulthood?
What role did childhood upbringing seem to play? How did this influence later relationships?
What role did social and cultural factors seem to play (gender, race, class, etc)
Did this persons well-being seem to increase with age why or why not
