Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, and gender at any stage of employment. Discrimination on the basis of age and disability are prohibited by the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 and Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, respectively.
