Ted Talk. (2018, May19). Why the Hospitals of the Future will be your Home – Niels van Namen. [Video file]. Retrieved from https://www.ted.com/talks/niels_van_namen_why_the_hospital_of_the_future_will_be_your_own_home#t-220830
Address each of the following questions. Organize your response in a numerical order as follows:
1. What is home health care that you can access in your community today?
2.Where would you want your elderly grandmother to receive routine care for her chronic condition? Blood draws and doctor visits are a big commitment. Put on your population health hat and reflect on redirecting acute care from the hospital to the home. Describe the advantages for population health to access care from the home and what implications you envision on addressing health equities through this change.
3.Niels van Namen is a healthcare futurist. Bringing down the walls of traditions of medicine beginning with reducing the scope of hospitals and making your home the center of patient care. What role do you see technology having on care.
4. At the root of this futurist perspective is not only technology, but a change of logistics. Think about the impact Amazon has had on the traditions of retail and even grocery stores. Imagine care at the tip of your finger tips coordinated with an app on your phone, a virtual assistant such as Alexa, a connectivity such as Face Time. From your seat, what is your vision of the future of healthcare on-demand? Provide at least three futuristic coordinate care that you would like to see happen.
5.Embed a picture or picture quote incorporating any topic of this discussion you are inspired to share. Provide a brief explanation as to why you selected this picture and the relevance from your perspective.
