Gina is 25 years old. She has been having headaches once a week for the last few months. They vary in intensity from mild to moderate, depending on you know, that time of the month. The headaches are generalized all over, but mostly around my entire head. She has no associated nausea or vomiting. Gina sometimes takes Acetaminophen which helps a bit. She took a Percocet last week that her Mom gave her, which helped a lot but made her sleepy. She has never missed work because of the headaches but she feels her performance at work is suboptimal when she has the headache. She tells you that she thinks she has a brain tumor because she read about her symptoms on line and they all fit with a brain tumor. What are the most likely etiologies of her headaches? How will you evaluate Gina? What are the therapeutic options for her headaches?
