For your term paper in this course you need to make some research on one of the following ancient cultures:
Paleolithic (Old Stone Age) of Europe
Neolithic (New Stone Age) culture of Near East
Mesopotamia
Egypt
Greece
Italy
For your assignment you need to choose one of the above ancient cultures. Your project should have two parts. In the first part you should include general information about the specific culture: chronology, geographical area, characteristics (eg. Society, administration, architecture, burial habits).
Then, in the second part do a research on a specific object (artwork) that belongs to the specific culture. This artwork could be anything manmade eg. Statue, pottery, jewelry, weapons or a building (palace, temple, tomb). This second part of your paper should include description of the artwork (or building), its chronology, function, etc.
It would be good if you include a couple of visual materials (e.g. a photo of the object, a map).
