For this assignment you are all going to be putting on your creative thinking caps by creating your own article which includes the following:
Create a timeline of the ancient world in which you reveal connections between and among cultures, highlight technological breakthroughs, and historical events, and personages that influenced change in the cultures. Use copied images to illustrate some of the cultures and works–or draw, paint, build, or sculpt your interpretation of some of the styles or types of works that illustrate periods or cultures on your timeline (if you use your own work take a picture and include the image).
Then find an example of contemporary works of art that you believe relates in some way to ancient works. Explain the connections you observe. How do we in the Western world of the 21st century use visual artworks to convey these messages or do we use other art forms?
