Attached is a poem that I would like the writer read and following the instructions below and do the paper.
Note: This poem can be listen to on YouTube
Explain the “before and after” of how listening, reading, or watching any of the supplemental materials has affected your reading. What did you think about a piece before appreciating the supplemental materials (What confusion did you have? What did you think something meant? What connections to your own life did you make?)? Then, explain how the supplemental materials added to, changed, or deepened your appreciation of one of the pieces at the end of the chapter.
You should talk about one poem, story, or drama piece, and one supplemental link related to that piece. Explain yourself in detail. What is interesting? What made you think more deeply or added to your understanding?
Meet the following requirements to get the full 10 pts.
1. Name the specific text, author, and supplemental material that you’re referring to.
2. Discuss your thoughts before you viewed/read the supplemental material. What were your initial impressions of the story, poem, or drama?
3. Discuss how the addition of the supplemental material affected your initial impression. What changed or what did not change? Why?
This poem requires that you pick up on the references to the late 1960s American culture. In this poem, you enter the mind of an American soldier just returning from service in the Vietnam War. Often, soldiers experienced great atrocities and violence in service of their country, but when they returned home, they were insulted and spit on by those who opposed America’s involvement in the war.
