Literature Review Topic: I’m gong to be a 8th grade Social Studies teacher, who focuses on research about the pros and cons of slavery back in the day. Whats Wrong with Reparations for Slavery – Foundation for Economic Education (fee.org) My teacher response: hmmm, sounds interesting but tell me why it’s important and then try to find evidence demonstrating it is. What I mean is, having student compare/contrast as you described is an education practice/unit/lesson. So, in your paper explain why that practice is important and find evidence to support that. Is it used to promote social justice?…as an example This is a multi-component assignment. you will need to identify a topic to work on that is approved by me (by module 5) Locate 5 peer-reviewed articles related to your topic, all approved by me (mid semester module) Submit your final reflection paper….due on 4/11. The syllabus provides a pretty good description with rubric. Steps 1-4 above are embedded in modules. This is where you will submit your final paper. Literature Review- Paper: This is a reflection paper, about 4-5 pages of text double spaced (not including references). Format of the paper (APA): Title page, including your name, the course, my name, and a title that fits your topic. Topic: introduce the topic, describe it, and why you chose it. Articles summary: briefly describe each article you selected, why, and the main take away from it (about one paragraph per article). Three biggest things: Identify and describe the three most important things you learned from the assignment and the articles. Tell me why they are important. Connect this to your future career. Big Question: tell me what you still dont understand and what you want/need to learn more about. Assignment Reflection: What was best part of this assignment? What was most difficult?
