Write a paper on the requirements of Utilitarianism. What actually does it require of us and are those reasonable demands? Does Utilitarianism require knowledge of the future? Does it require impossible calculations? Does it require self-sacrifice? If so, how much? Does Utilitarianism place any fixed demands on agents, or might utilitarians disagree about what is required in particular cases? If so, how might those disagreements be settled? Above all, what is your judgment of the question? What requirements do you think Utilitarianism places on agents, and are those reasonable demands? Do you agree with Utilitarianism here and if so for what specific reasons? If not, then why, specifically, not?
