In the last lecture, I provided some recommendations for lipids based on recommendations by our government and the American Heart Association. However, scientists often debate these recommendations for dietary fat and cholesterol. This is due to the numerous studies that often have conflicting results. Dietary lipids are difficult to measure since foods are made of mixed triglycerides. Thus, unless the diet is made up of limited foods, it is hard to find strong correlations between the various types of foods and their risk of heart disease. You may have heard statements like “Coconut Oil is Healthy” then read a conflicting report. What about, “Olive oil is the healthiest? For this discussion, I want you to find a research study about dietary fat and/or cholesterol and discuss the conclusions from the study. In your discussion, you will need to identify two or more limitations to the research study. A limits the findings of the study. Some possible limitations include the length of the study, the diets used in the study, if the study used animals instead of people, the measurement or data collection, and/or if there were other variables. Then reflect on what you have learned after reading the research.
.Provide a research study about dietary fat or cholesterol.
.Describe the study in your own words.
.List major conclusions or results of the study. You can directly quote these from the study.
.List at least two limitations of the research study.
