Paragraph one: Present a patient with an established or suspected diagnosis for which the class of medicines would be indicated. You do not have to give vital signs or lab data, just the diagnosis and information about the patient that would lead you to select the medication or class to which it belongs. For example, if the patient has a urinary tract infection, their allergy to sulfa drugs will influence your selection of agents. Their age and gender or co morbid conditions might influence your decision as well. Paragraph two: Discuss a medication (Brand and generic names required) that you would consider using. Discuss the class of medications in which it belongs and its mechanism of action. Discuss the possible adverse drug reactions, precautions, and populations in whom the drug is contraindicated or would need monitoring/special follow up. Identify medications or classes that would interact with your selection.
