After watching the two TED Talk by Vilayanur Ramachandran: Three clues to understanding your brain and The neurons that shape civilization, and reading Chapter Two of the textbook, submit your written response to the following questions:
From the TED Talks –
(1) What is Capgras Syndrome?
(2) What is synesthesia?
(3) What are “Mirror Neurons” and what do they do – when do they “fire”?
From the textbook –
(4) If someone had a stroke and as a result experienced speech impairment (aphasia), use the information provided by the textbook (Language, p. 47-48 – please read the whole section on Language) to tell, based upon the type of speech impairment, which part of the brain was damaged in the stroke. I’m expecting you to give two parts to this are there are two different types of speech impairment that commonly follow strokes.
