The beginning of the 21st century has seen the rising of social innovation as a as a practical solution for tackling social, political, economic and environmental challenges such as poverty, ageing, migration, or climate change, among others. As a citizen of your country and a global citizen, you take initiative to develop a social innovation that addresses a social issue that you feel most concerned and passionate about. Your envision is that, by implementing this social innovation, you will join the world-wide effort of countless number of other social innovators to bring about equity for those most marginalised, and contribute to the common good and the advancement of the whole humanity. Instructions Write a concept report outlining a hypothetical social innovation you create to address a social issue of your choice. Your report must describe the social innovation and explain how it works to address the issue and contribute to the common good. It will discuss what type(s) of community engagement may be used, how the 5 pillars (principles) of community engagement may be applied and what community engagement strategies may be employed. Include an analysis of the ethical and social responsibility that business and organisations should carry out in the context of the proposed social innovation. The report must also discuss the benefits of community engagement including personal and professional development, employability, and how community engagement can help to bring about those benefits.
