In a minimum of 500 words, discuss the following two things using what you have learned so far and using the feedback you received from your initial essay and your first reflection post on philosophical foundations:Start by clarifying the insights you’ve gained into how you would describe your personal theoretical orientation. What progress have you made thus far in articulating your approach to counseling? Feel free to make changes to what you had previously shared – that would be the progress or clarity that you have gained thus far as you have reflected on how you do counseling.Using this clarified articulation, discuss how the different theories/models/approaches that you integrate into your personal theoretical orientation contribute to how you do case conceptualization. When a client comes in for the first time and starts describing their life and their issues, how does your integrated approach factor into how you assess/conceptualize a client and their presenting concerns? I am not asking about any intake documentation or any assessment forms/tests that are used. I am more specifically seeking the case conceptualization aspect of the assessment – the part that is formed in your mind during sessions that serves as the basis or guide for what will become your treatment plan. It’s real easy to point out how your chosen therapeutic approaches show up in your interventions but I want you to instead describe to me the front-end process and how the theories you have chosen to integrate work together to help you form a fuller, deeper, more effective conceptualization of that client so you can then offer more effective treatment to resolve their issues. For example, if you integrate Beck’s CT with Rogers’ person-centered therapy, the way you would conceptualize a case is different than how you would do it if you were solely using a person-centered approach – that’s what I want you to explore. Also in this part of the post, include something about how the view of human nature (or you can use humanistic or existential instead) of the theories/models/approaches affect or play into the assessment or into how you approach doing an assessment/case conceptualization. For example, if you come from a humanistic approach, you would conceptualize a client’s issues differently than someone coming from an existential approach. Discuss humanistic approach and talk about the benefits.NOTE: When talking about case conceptualization discuss Beck ( CBT ).Logistical requirements:You need to include at least two counseling theories/models/approaches in your discussion. CBT ( BECK) AND BEHAVIORAL THERAPY ( SKINNER).
