Informative Speech Proposal 1. What is your overall topic idea? (This can be a fairly broad statement at this point.) 2. Why have you chosen this topic? What do you find interesting about it? What will they learn from your speech? If this is a more well-known or prominent topic of discussion, what will they learn that is new? 4. What challenges do you foresee in developing a speech on this topic? 5. Write a working thesis statement. Remember, this is just a starting point. However, having a thesis statement in mind will help you focus your research and efforts as you develop your speech.
