For this assignment, reflect on the conversations we’ve been having about Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado” and compose a 1-2 page reflection/critique about the characters and the events of the story. Use some of the following questions to help you: Do you side more with Montresor or Fortunato? Why/in what ways? Was Montresor right for what he did to his supposed friend? How would you analyze the morals of the two characters? As a reader, do you trust Montresor as a narrator? What surprised you in this story?
Of course, you can use one or more of the above questions to help you as you compose your reflection/critique, but you can also write about anything else related to the story. In your reflection, make sure you use evidence from the story to support your claims, and make sure you fully explain your answer/critique. Use quotation marks around quotations taken directly from the story, and include a page number in parenthesis after each quotation. This should be written in the first and/or third person only (no second person, “you” or “your” unless it is in a direct quotation). Read over your reflection/critique and spend time revising/editing before you submit it.
I attached picture of the story.
