Although not considered obviously a Romantic, Irving’s “Rip Van Winkle” does contain elements of Romanticism. Pick one element of Romanticism found in the story and analyze what makes it Romantic. (Don’t write about “Dark Romanticism”, that’s a different genre more similar to Gothic Lit. we will cover soon).
