How were they similar? How were they different? Your essay should include at least two similarities and two differences, which can be about geography, religion, political organization (leadership), societal characteristics, or significant achievements. What innovations took place in ancient times in these regions? If you had to live in one of these societies, which would you choose and why? You should include information about Egypt’s Old and New Kingdoms, as well as a specific reference to at least two of the various periods of domination by city-states in Mesopotamia (i.e., Assyrian, Akkadian, Sumerian, etc).
Then take the information you have compiled and write it out in sentences. Make sure you include a paragraph at the end explaining how the two civilizations are similar and how they are different. Also, don’t forget to answer the question: of the two, in which would you prefer to live and why?
