Land and Survey History assignment is : Research Paper Select a significant person, significant event or series of events, significant instrument(s), or some other critical part of history directly related to surveyors, surveying (measurement), or land and property but in all cases the chosen topic MUST NOT be the same topic as the book you reviewed in the course. Refer to the Possible Research Topics page for ideas. Perform research of secondary data from a minimum of 8 original sources which are not internet sites. (you may of course use the internet to find these sources and if information is quoted directly from these works these will be fine) Collect and reduce your research into usable, accurate, and interesting information with cited sources, etc. for the surveying audience and for the general public. The research reduction criteria should be based on the question “Will this research help the general public and other surveyors understand, appreciate, and even promote the surveying profession?”
