consider whether or not Jaws, the movie is a successful
adaptation of the book. Layout the differences and similarities and explain as best
as you can why the filmmakers decided to make any changes in plot or tone. Discuss
whether you think those changes are justified. Consider the goals of the respective
versions and discuss whether or not the movie achieved those goals. Did you like the
movie and if you did, did you like it as a movie on its own or as a translation of the
book? Think about the advantages that the respective mediums have (books and
movies) and recognize if the book and movie took advantage of them.
