After completing one of the weekly implementation team meetings in the medical centers conference room, you return to your office in the HIM department. You are met by the HIM secretary that informs you of a message from Stacy Rush, the editor of Massachusetts HIM Weekly the weekly newsletter from the states HIM association. You are familiar with this newsletter as it is emailed weekly to members of the association.
Stacy has learned of the positive strides Riverdale Regional Medical Center is making in implementing the EHR system with you in charge of the implementation. She would like you to write an article for Massachusetts HIM Weekly that she would like to publish within the next three weeks. In the article, Stacy would like you to focus on the impact the implementation will have on the electronic record workflow process, the electronic record lifecycle, and the master patient index.
